AirPort Express
Background
In June 2004, Apple released AirPort Express, a slimmed down version of the AirPort Extreme base station with AirTunes support. AirTunes allowed iTunes music to be streamed wirelessly to a HiFi. The AirPort Express station shipped in a very small form factor, allowed up to 10 connections, lacked modem and second RJ-45 ethernet port, but featured an analog/optical digital audio post instead. AirPort was called AirMac in Japan due to copyright issues.
