Background
On October 17, 2023, Apple announced a new version of Apple Pencil aimed at "bringing more value and choice" to the Apple Pencil lineup. As opposed to previous Apple Pencils, it does not have pressure sensitivity, does not charge magnetically off the side of iPad, or have the double tap feature found on Apple Pencil (2nd Generation). Instead, this Apple Pencil plugs in through a hidden USB-C port towards the top that can be exposed by a sliding cap. Priced at $79 U.S., it still features various Apple Pencil features found in previous versions, such as tilt sensitivity and low-latency performance. The Apple Pencil (USB-C) was released on November 1, 2023.
