Background

On October 13, 2026, Apple announced HomePod mini 2, with availability beginning October 30 at $149 (U.S.). Powered by the Apple S10 chip, it supports Siri AI (arriving via a future free software update), and upgrades wireless to Wi-Fi 6E (802.11ax) and Bluetooth 6 while keeping Thread networking and an Ultra Wideband chip for device proximity. Its body is nearly the same size as the original HomePod mini (84.3 mm tall, 97.9 mm wide) but weighs 335 grams, and it comes in white, pink, green, blue, and midnight. The acoustic layout of a full-range driver with dual passive radiators carries over, and for the first time HomePod mini 2 can be paired with Apple TV 4K (4th generation) for a four-speaker surround sound setup. A 20W power adapter is included in the box.
