Background

Time Capsule is a wireless network-attached storage device made by Apple Inc. It is marketed as a backup device, designed to work in tandem with the Time Machine back-up utility, introduced in Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard. The device includes a full AirPort Extreme Base Station (with 802.11n wireless, an Ethernet WAN port and three Ethernet LAN ports). Storage is provided by, according to Apple, a "server-grade" hard drive in either 500 GB or 1 TB sizes. Introduced at Macworld Expo 2008 and due to be released in February, with pricing announced at $299 U.S. for the 500GB version and $499 U.S. for the 1TB version.
