On June 5, 2017, the Magic Keyboard received a minor visual update with changes to the Control and Option key symbols. A new version, Magic Keyboard with Numeric Keypad, was also introduced to replace the discontinued wired Apple Keyboard. It features a longer layout with a numeric keypad and a different arrow key arrangement. The Space Gray Magic Keyboard with Numeric Keypad (with black keys) was initially bundled with iMac Pro and later sold separately. A silver version with black keys was bundled with the 2019 Mac Pro. The Space Gray option was discontinued in May 2021.

On August 7, 2007, Apple released a redesigned Apple Wireless Keyboard, similar to the wired Apple Keyboard, featuring a thinner aluminum enclosure. It added media controls on function keys and Dashboard controls. The layout mirrored the MacBook, omitting the numeric keypad. A minor update was released in October 2009, requiring only two AA batteries and featuring slight visual tweaks.

In September 2003, Apple released its first wireless keyboard. Based on Bluetooth technology, it shipped alongside the Apple Wireless Mouse. The keyboard's appearance was similar to the Apple Keyboard released four months earlier, with white keys in a clear enclosure, but without USB ports on the back. It was powered by four AA batteries with a claimed battery life of nine months. It was discontinued in August 2007.

The Apple USB Keyboard was released in August 1998 with the first iMac. It was the first Apple keyboard to use USB, replacing the Apple Desktop Bus. Featuring a translucent enclosure, it was initially available in Bondi Blue and later expanded to five fruit colors (Blueberry, Grape, Strawberry, Tangerine, and Lime) and Graphite to match different iMac models. It was the last Apple keyboard to feature a power button and was discontinued in July 2000.
