Introduced in July 2021, the MagSafe Battery Pack was Apple's first MagSafe battery: it snaps onto the back of an iPhone for charging, with a white one-piece enclosure, a Lightning port and a built-in 1460 mAh (11.13 Wh) battery. The shipping firmware charged at 5W on the go; firmware updates in December 2021 and April 2022 refined charge management and raised on-the-go charging to 7.5W, while connecting a 20W or higher power adapter enables up to 15W. It works across the iPhone 12, 13 and 14 lineups, with mini models gaining up to 70% additional charge. It was discontinued in September 2023, when the iPhone 15 lineup moved to USB-C and the Lightning accessory generation retired. Though never added to Apple's compatibility list, the pack still magnetically attaches to iPhone 15 and later models and charges them wirelessly at 5W (up to 7.5W after the firmware update).

Introduced alongside iPhone Air in September 2025, the MagSafe Battery is Apple's second MagSafe battery and its first with USB-C, designed specifically for the ultra-thin iPhone Air. It charges iPhone Air at up to 12W when snapped on, up to 20W when connected to a 30W or higher power adapter, and delivers up to 65% additional charge. Its built-in 3149 mAh (12.263 Wh) battery raises capacity over the original pack's 11.13 Wh.
