2022Starting with iOS 16, iPhone 14 series introduced Mac-like startup and shutdown chimes as an accessibility feature (disabled by default). The sound is built into the processor BootROM, exclusive to iPhone 14 and later (14/15/16/17). Startup and shutdown sounds are different audio files, and they play even in silent mode.
